Hello Northeastern Paintball:

I have come to ask you about your team, your tournament paintball spirit, and your current and future goals. I ask because I am a student affairs professional who is currently in the job search. I recently interviewed for a position at Northeastern’s Office of Student Activities for an Assistant Director position.

I have many criteria for the school that I hope to dedicate the next 2-5 years of my life. Many of which encompasses quality of life, compensation, culture…. and of course paintball.

I have been playing, practicing, teaching, coaching for the past six years now. I started when I was an undergraduate at the University of Hartford where I played in the NCPA. Since then I have moved onto grad school at NYU.

During this time I have been playing with / against some of the most competitive D3-D1 teams in the tri-state area and my practice fields vary from Atlas Paintball and ZJ Paintball in NJ to my old home field at Matt’s Outback Paintball in CT.

I have had a vision for some time now that whatever school I end up working for, I will commit all of my personal and professional resources towards cultivating the paintball program of that institution into a competitive tournament team - no matter the starting conditions looked like. I vowed to start a team where there was none, cultivate a growing team, and if possible coach and train an established tournament paintball team into a world class competitive organization.

When browsing your website I was surprised to find updated news regarding your recent wins, your solid roster, and your commitment to playing quality paintball. I congratulate you on your successes, your victories, and your dedication to this sport.

In the coming weeks I may be offered an opportunity to visit the Northeastern Campus in person. Should that happen - I would like to request a meeting with the current roster to describe my offering in greater detail. Additionally (if time and limitations permit) I would like the option to attend a practice or scrimmage of the organization.

I hope that you consider this opportunity fully, and that I will be contacted by a representative of your team’s leadership in the near future.

Thank you for your time,

~Dave Eng
